A modern take on a classic subject

A redesign exercise.

Mud, Blood and Poppycock is the the true story of how Britain won the First World War. The book written by Gordon Corrigan explores, and throws out the popular ‘Lions led by Donkeys’ narrative which is false. I have read the book cover to cover 3 times, discovering more with each read.

One thing has always bothered me about the book - the cover design. I set myself an hour redesign challenge, for bringing the artwork inline with the writing - modernisation.

My copy of the book, featuring the 2nd iteration of lacklustre cover design.

My take on the cover
